I went to see Doves this week at the cat's cradle near Chapel Hill. I had lots of fun jumping around like a fool. I did get told off by a big American boy for jumping on his foot, so I apologised and carried. No-one likes to move at gigs over here, except maybe occasional gentle head nods or if something really grabs them a hand in the air. Each to their own I guess, seems like a shame to me. They played lots of ones I liked so that was good, I think Sky starts Falling is my favourite new one. Not so sure about the support from longwave. Ok at first but I got a bit bored after a bit, and they looked bored too. Big thumbs up for the Waffle House in Chapel Hill though, mmmmm, blueberry waffle!!!!

Safe to eat at Kohl's again "The N.C. Department of Labor isn’t pointing the finger of blame at Kohl’s Frozen Custard. The agency cleared Kohl’s of wrongdoing in a May 1 incident in which the restaurant sold a $3.59 pint of chocolate custard with a part of a finger folded inside it. The finger belonged to 22-year-old shift manager Brandon Fizer, who had accidentally cut it off in a frozen custard machine moments before."
Just as well, I still have a $10 voucher to spend there.

Hurricane Ophelia brushed past our way yesterday and it rained and rained (8.2" at our campus rain site!) I went to hide out at my mate's house but it didn't get too bad there, lost power for a few hours and some branches in the roads, Here's an interactive map about it.

Our plans have been changed a bit, we'd booked to go to the Outer Banks this weekend (lovely barrier islands up the coast a bit) but as the storm is heading that way may have to re-think. AND "An Evening With" Dolly Parton has been postponed to a mystery date I probably wont be able to go to. Shockingly, caring, sharing company ticketmaster don't seem to want to refund their exorbitant booking fees. I just hope Dolly is ok.
