US Office opens for business
I watched the remake of the office this week, its not good, but its not as bad as I expected it to be. High praise there.
In other news, me and Luke are doing well so far in the department predict the Men's Tournament Challenge where you guess the winner of each round of a knockout college basketball tournament. Nationally we're 69,878 which puts us in the top 2.5% which is pretty good I reckon. But there's still time for it all to go horribly wrong.

The Yankee or Dixie quiz
Here's a quiz to figure out if you're a yankee or a dixie, it also clears up the mystery about what toilet papering is? They're a strange lot over here.
Apparently I'm 47% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Senate Votes to Allow Drilling in Arctic Reserve
Alaska is open for drilling the 2 barrels of oil that are probably there, which means everywhere else is open too. Marvellous.
"The Senate endorsed oil-drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge today, giving President Bush and others who favor exploration of the Alaska wilderness a major victory.
The 51-to-49 vote was in favor of a budget resolution that assumes revenues of some $5 billion from drilling fees over the next decade, with the federal government and the state of Alaska to split the money.
Senator Lisa Murkowski, an Alaska Republican who supports drilling, said opening up the refuge would be sensible policy. "The price of oil just jumped up to 56 bucks a barrel this morning," she noted minutes before the vote.
Opponents, who include most Democrats and some Republican moderates, contend that drilling in the refuge would endanger one of the last unspoiled regions of wilderness in North America, and that in the long run it would not be the answer to America's energy problems. "

Look. Even more pics from the trip to Charleston!!! Brilliant!!!! I forgot Howard already made me an account at Flickr so now there's Photos from rain doc as well as the other ones. Sneaky stuff.

Also highly recommended are my mate Craig's pics. The first gallery is pics of him in Antarctica with some very impressive photos. The second one which made me laugh outloud show his beard slowly disappearing via a number of comedy facial hair styles. Magic.

As if that's not enough there's also Kathryn's pics at ourgirldownunder. There's some of us UEA girls at Liz's place in the country and some of Kathryn's adventures in Canberra.

me and leslie judgingwhat washes best?Regional Science Fair
Here are some pics of the science fair I judged at the other week. It was quite exciting we had to go round and talk to the kids about their projects. Some were very cute, I got a free physics lesson from one of them. One of them chatted on the phone mid science chat, and one was very grumpy cause his cousin was visiting and he didn't even want to enter the stupid science fair.
Me and Luke at Magnolia PlantationI've put some pics of me and Luke's trip to Charleston in South Carolina Flickr Photos . There's a few more to come but I used up all my space for the month now. Had a nice time and managed to drive over the big scary bridge with narrow lanes.

And another thing about the oscars. I was watching the red carpet pre show on Entertainment channel E! which kept being interrupted by an announcement telling us the coverage was commercial free thanks to the following companies.
