I got to watch
the 77th Annual Academy Awards yesterday which was quite entertaining. I watched a fair bit of the preamble with all the people chatting on the red carpet to some bird off a show that's a bit like loose women. I also spotted Tim Vincent who is now on some entertainment news show over here chatting to celebs, I used to love him in children's ward.
When the advert breaks were on there was a show on another channel which only came on when there were adverts with Sandra Bernhard and "style expert Lloyd Boston". This show had them sitting on some sofas talking about what we'd just seen which was much better than adverts every 10 minutes. Bernhard and a few other experts on telly were commenting on how Cate Blanchett had that unmistakable English charm, at least Sandra corrected herself later.
Beyonce sang most of the songs up for oscars including a phantom of the opera one, I was hoping her Jenifer ellison off brookie was going to turn up but sadly not. Beyonce also sang a song in French, even though the lovely Vanessa paradis was in the audience with Johnny Depp. The people who weren't famous enough had their awards given to them in the aisles. They also did a thing so all the nominees were already on stage when they did the announcement so they didn't get their own close up which seemed a bit mean.

More photos are online now on my new look fotopic site. Along with the pics of when we all went out for sue's birthday breakfast and the homecoming basketball game, there's now some nice pics of Airlie Gardens and the cool bottle house. There's also me and Luke's trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, to see Wilco at the house of blues. What a very cool town that is, I liked all the kev'd up cars cruising the strip which bounced up and down and had doors that opened the wrong way. I was a bit puzzzled by people sitting filming them drive by though. I was also a bit confused by all the kids hanging out boozing on their balconies, I wonder if they left their motel or not. Found some ace souvenirs there, The Gay Dolphin, the largest gift shop on the East Coast, had some real treasures.

This is the MACRL (Marine and Atmospheric Chemistry Lab) logo we made at the last party. Can you spot the computer trickery I used to change it?
More Wilmington Snaps are now available online too. There's some more from halloween and christmas parties, some of when we went out for a birthday breakfast for sue, some at the beach and some of the homecoming basketball match (which are a bit crap and blurry but you get the idea).

I've gotten in trouble again. This weekend I went a little crazy and hung my washing out to dry on my balcony. I forgot to bring it in Saturday night and Monday I found that someone in my complex had TYPED a complaint about it and given it to the lady in the office. It makes me very annoyed cause not only does washing line dried smell better it saves energy, an hour's drying is about the same as an hour of oven cooking. Any British student could tell you tumble driers are bad.
Here's a quiz about energy

Meet
Dog The Bounty Hunter He's a tough no nonsense bounty hunter, a bit like Robert de Niro in Midnight run, but with a blonde mullet and rocking clothes. Its a family business working with his wife to catch them felons. You can see a
clip of the tv show me and Luke watched about him last night. Brilliant.
